Welcome to the Starcraft Demo Patches page.

Here new players can get the patch to make their demo playable in larger games, and use different maps.

I first got on and didn't know a thing about patches, so I understand what a nightmare it is just trying to find a kool person to give you some help. Search no further! Here you will find all you need.

More patches are coming....as well as maps, so come back often to get the newest additions.

Here is how you get the patches to work.
1st you unzip bywaysx4.zip to your StarCraft Shareware folder, it will create a sub folder in it called patch. You should also see the file Ploader in your SC folder, if you see it then it worked.

Now start ploader and tell it to run your SC exe file (Starcraft Shareware ED), then you log on to Battle net as normal.
Test it by making a room and seeing if the Byways X4 map is the game map.

To switch to lets say atlantis, you log off BN and close ploader, then unzip atlantis to your SC folder and run ploader again.
For any map you want to play, you must unzip 1st then start ploader.
(overwrite existing files)

Byways X4 is the map we all know and love, but it has a lot more resources and a few terrain changes. This zip contains Ploader to make all the maps work, so you must get this file.

Another place to get the above file if the first doesn't work.

Atlantis X8 is a cool island map, and it's the biggest size a map can be. This is the bug fixed version, I suggest everyone get this file. Max players 8 : Size 256x256

Blood Wars!! Finally the demo version...you will love it!

TheBigRock - It's simple in design and doesn't have all those laggy dodads so it plays well. It's loaded with a nice amount of money.T he big rock in the center is the size of the entire bgh map.

10-Maps.zip - Here is a bunch of maps that have been converted to demo patches. They are all here in this 1 zip. The ten maps are: BrokenSteppeX7, DarkStarX4, MeltdownX3, MeltdownGoldx3, MuddierBathX8, TheHighwayX4, TheShrineX6, ThreeKingdomsX3, TripleTeamX6, UpTheCreekX2.

ShorelineX4.zip - Max players 4: Size 192x192

AtlantisGoldx8.zip - Atlantis Gold X8 is the the same as atlantis x8, this 1 diff being it has loads of minerals like BGH. .

ChallengerX2.zip - This is a pretty good 1on1 map. If u want a 1on1 map to replace the horrid byways one. Then here it is.
Max players 2: Size 96x128

bghx8.zip - Big Game Hunters, is one of the most popular map for full version people. Well you just new it had to be ported to the demo. It's called "Badlands Big Game Hunters", since it was retileed with the demo badlands tile set.

atlantisx8.zip - Atlantis X8 is a cool island map, and it's the biggest size a map can be. This is the bug fixed version, I suggest everyone get this file.

BabblingBrookX4.zip - Babbling Brook is a nice new map for a 2on2. One thing to note, you really got to play this left vs. right. You cant pick names in a room as teams, cuz the bases are so close together on each side.

blood.zip- Badlands BloodBath is the smallest map I have seen so far . Don't let its size fool ya. This little plus sign(at a 45degree angle) of an island map is pretty fun.
Max players 4 : Size 64x64

riverwarx7.zip - River War is another big map, think of it as Atlantis with more land and smaller. Cuz of all the land it isn't just an air war like Atlantis mainly is.
Max players 7 : Size 128x192

roadwarriorsx4.zip - Road Warriors is a great map, it has a lot of resources and plenty of cool terrain. If more people played this, it would probably become my favorite map.

warlordsx8v3.zip - Warlords (8) V3.0 is simply a newer revision of warlords (8). I haven't played them enough to know what's the changes are. I would guess resource quantities and some terrain changes in the center of the map.

StarCraft PC Demo - Most of you should have this already, but I guess the retail ppl wanting to pounce on the demo newbies need to find this too. :)

StarCraft Mac Demo - This is the mac version of the demo, Maconites are ppl too ya know.
